Black leather with gold branding is the dressiest register the Gazelle has, and this December 19, 2023 release leaned into it. The upper is smooth hide rather than the brushed suede the model is usually cut from, which flattens the light and makes the panel seams and the serrated three stripes read as clean lines instead of soft edges. Cloud White handles the contrast on the stripes and heel tab, and gold metallic covers the tongue label and the wordmark foiled along the lateral quarter.
The $160 price is the number that stands out, roughly half again what a suede Gazelle cost that season, and it is the material that explains it. Leather of this grade holds its shape through the vamp rather than collapsing into the soft folds suede develops, so the low silhouette stays sharper for longer. The tradeoff is that creases, once set, are permanent. It is a colourway built for wear with something other than jeans, and the gold foil is what ties it to the older terrace pairs rather than to any contemporary running shoe.
