Olive is the odd green in adidas' range. Unlike the collegiate and linen shades, it comes out of military and workwear rather than sport, and pairing it with Core Black instead of a white or cream trim pushes the reference further in that direction. The upper here is tonal, olive on olive across the panels and the serrated three stripes, with black handling the smaller details, which produces a shoe that reads dark at a glance and only shows its colour up close.
That is a very different proposition from the majority of Gazelle colourways, which are built on clear two-tone contrast so the silhouette is legible from a distance. This one hides its shape instead. It appeared in October 2022 at $100, the standard suede price, and it is among the easiest versions to wear with anything dark. Olive suede also holds dirt without showing it, which makes this one of the few pale-adjacent shades in the family that does not demand constant attention.
