Golf is the joke and the theme. Sneakersnstuff and adidas Consortium built this black and white UltraBoost 1.0 as half of a two-shoe Tee Time set, the other piece a wingtipped leather EQT 93. The running shoe carries co-branded tabs at the heel, matching aglets, tongue holes picked out in blue and in black, and a grass-printed insole that only shows once the shoe comes off. Everything else is left in monochrome.
The timing matters. This landed on January 22, 2016, less than a year after the UltraBoost's February 2015 debut, when the silhouette had barely started appearing in collaborations at all. Consortium was the adidas channel for limited work with independent shops, and the $180 price matched the general release even though production was small. The Primeknit upper, laced plastic cage and full-length Boost midsole are all first-generation, which makes the pair a record of what the shoe looked like before the line expanded into dozens of variants.
