Bold Gold over an inflated frame. The XLG is adidas's oversized reading of the Superstar, introduced in 2023, and it exaggerates the parts people recognise: the shell toe spreads wider, the sole unit stacks thicker, and the serrated Three-Stripes scale up with the rest of the upper.
On this pair the leather is Bold Gold from toe to heel, with Cloud White used on the stripes and the shell so the tooling still separates visually from the body. The effect is closer to a chunky modern trainer than to the flat basketball shoe the model started as, while every landmark stays where it should be. adidas released it in women's sizing on March 3, 2024 at $110, in line with the rest of the XLG range rather than at a collaboration price.
