Suede changes the Superstar more than a colour swap does. The nap absorbs light where smooth leather reflects it, so the panels on this pair read softer and the seams less sharply defined than they would on a standard build.
Shadow Violet, a muted purple, covers almost all of it, including the serrated Three-Stripes, with Crystal White used on the shell toe and sole to keep the outline legible. The platform under it is the XLG, adidas's oversized version of the model, which widens the toe cap and thickens the sole so the proportions read closer to a contemporary chunky trainer. adidas put it out in women's sizing during November 2023 at $110. Among the XLG colourways it is one of the least loud, relying on a single deep colour and a textile change rather than on contrast.
