A Speedflow.1 is the top build: the full Primeknit collar, the laser-cut Engineered Agility Frame bonded directly to the knit, and the Carbitex Speedframe soleplate, with .2 and .3 versions further down substituting simpler materials at lower prices.
adidas introduced the Speedflow in July 2021, with the frame as the headline change. Rather than caging the foot in a separate structure, the lattice is cut and fused to the skin so it provides lockdown in every direction while staying minimal, and the soleplate is tuned for covering ground in a straight line. Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah were among the players adidas put in the boot at launch. This firm-ground pair followed in September 2021 at 250 dollars, finished in core black with sonic ink and solar yellow as the only contrast.
