Three names share the collar of this shoe. 8th Street is Ronnie Fieg's line with Clarks, the English shoemaker, and this release brought adidas into that arrangement with the Samba as the vehicle. The colour is recorded simply as Savannah and the upper is suede, the material both companies have leaned on for decades, which is probably why the crossover works visually at all. A Samba's flat, low profile has more in common with a Clarks Originals shape than either has with a modern running shoe.
The pair released on 24 March 2023 at 220 dollars in the United States, next to a Shadow Green make at the same price. That is more than double a general-release Samba OG, and three-way projects carry a premium for the obvious reason that three names are taking a share. The timing put it in the middle of the model's strongest run, when the shoe was appearing under almost every label that could get access to it. What separates this from the fashion collaborations of the same months is the reference point. Most of them looked forward; this one looked sideways, at another heritage shoemaker working in the same materials at roughly the same height off the ground.
