No group is more tied to this shoe. Run-DMC released My Adidas in May 1986, and at Madison Square Garden that July they had the crowd hold their shoes in the air; adidas signed the group weeks later in a deal generally counted as the first sneaker endorsement given to anyone outside sport. They wore their pairs fat-laced or with the laces pulled out entirely.
This little kids pair marks the model's fiftieth year. Cloud White leather covers the upper, the serrated Three-Stripes are black, a Hi-Res Red tab sits at the heel, and Superstar is inscribed along the lateral quarter panel in lettering that nods to the group's own graphics. adidas released it November 14, 2020 at $65. The adult versions of the anniversary programme got the archival detailing; the kids version got the story, which is arguably the better half.
