Novak Djokovic came to ASICS in 2018 after years with another brand, and by the following season he was competing in the Court FF, the model the company built its tennis range around. Signature tennis shoes are unusual: the sport's shoe market is small, and most players wear a stock model in a team colourway. His versions exist because the demands are specific: a game built on sliding into shots on hard court, absorbing loads through the inside edge and reversing direction from a stretched position, which destroys uppers and outsoles in places a serve-and-volley player never touches.
