ASICS sells the Court FF 3 in more outsole variants than most tennis shoes get, and OC is the one aimed at omni courts (sand-filled artificial grass, common in Japan and used for club play elsewhere) as well as clay. The problem those surfaces create is the opposite of the usual one: a hard-court tread digs into the loose top layer and holds when the player wants to slide, loading the ankle and knee rather than letting the foot travel. The OC tread is cut to grip and release instead.
The rest of the shoe is the Court FF 3 ASICS announced in December 2022, developed with Novak Djokovic. Its defining feature is a three-piece outsole in place of a single moulded unit, with the heel section split in two so it spreads contact as the foot lands; ASICS had the change measured at the University of Tsukuba in August 2022 and reported impact loading at heel contact down 6.8 percent against the previous model. A two-piece TWISTRUSS structure braces the midfoot against twisting loads, and the midsole pairs FlyteFoam with a GEL unit under the heel. This one is plain black and white.
