The GEL-RESOLUTION line is ASICS's answer to a narrow problem: a baseline player takes most of their load sideways, and a shoe that lets the foot travel over the edge of the platform costs them both stability and ankle safety. The ninth version attacks that with rigid TPU DYNAWALL structures running through the shoe and a DYNAWRAP system redesigned to reduce how far the upper deflects when the foot pushes against it. ASICS put the redesigned outsole and wall together at 4.4% more dynamic braking force than the eighth version when it launched in January 2023.
Clay changes the calculation. On a loose surface the player slides into the shot by design, so the shoe has to release predictably and then stop, and it has to clear surface material from the tread instead of packing it in. That is what separates this build from the all-court version sharing its upper.
Mako Blue carries the DynaFit upper here, with yellow used on the branding and around the sole.
