The Noosa name traces back to the Gel-Noosa triathlon shoes of the early 2000s, and ASICS cites those styles as the reference for the patterned mesh uppers the line still wears. What has stayed constant across the generations is the function: pull tabs at heel and tongue, a light breathable upper that drains and dries, and enough grip to handle the run out of a transition area on wet feet.
Version sixteen moved the cushioning to FF Blast Plus, the same family of foam ASICS uses in its plated speed trainers, giving the shoe more rebound than the FlyteFoam setups the line ran on previously. Reviewers positioned it as a middle-ground shoe, faster than a daily trainer, less committed than a racer, and usable well beyond triathlon.
The marbled black and white treatment is the outlier in a range otherwise built on saturated color; here the pattern does the work the palette usually does. It reached shelves in July 2024 at a hundred and thirty-five dollars, next to considerably brighter options including a safety yellow pair.
