The Sky Elite FF is the model ASICS points toward the net. Where its Netburner Ballistic stablemate is set up for lateral coverage, the Sky Elite is tuned around the jump: landing cushioning first, then a structure the brand calls RISETRUSS, a sidewall and midfoot arrangement meant to steady the foot through acceleration and take-off.
Everything else follows from that. The heel sits on a wide outrigger that resists rolling on an off-balance landing, the forefoot is built to load without collapsing, and the midsole uses FlyteFoam, the lightweight compound ASICS developed at its Kobe research institute and introduced in 2016. Later generations moved onto FF Blast Plus Eco, the softer recycled-content branch of that family.
ASICS also sells the Sky Elite in a mid-top MT cut for players who want more coverage above the ankle, on the same platform and at a small price premium. At $130 this second generation sat a good distance under the plated Metarise.
