Japan has its own idea of what a fast shoe is. The Tarther name, written with characters that read as tiger run, has been on ASICS racing flats since the 1980s, and the domestic versions of them are still assembled in Japan rather than in the factories that make the global range, a distinction that has earned the line a following at home unusual for any sportswear model. The shoes themselves are traditionally thin, firm and low, built around outsole grip and a light upper rather than around foam. The RP generation continued that lineage while easing the ride, swapping the older firm compounds for FF Blast Plus so the shape survives but the landing does not punish. White with diva pink is a summer pairing on a shoe with almost nothing else decorative about it.
