The twenty-fifth Cumulus was not a small update. ASICS put PureGEL in the heel (an internal insert lighter and softer than the visible unit it replaced) and moved the midsole to FF Blast Plus, the softer and bouncier foam it also used in its plated racer. Stack height jumped dramatically against the 24, and despite the extra foam the shoe came out close to an ounce lighter. The mesh upper was rebuilt from around ninety per cent recycled material. Over it sits Lite-Show, the brand's recurring low-light collection: reflective panels positioned on the lateral side and heel, released for the months when training happens in the dark at both ends of the day. Black with pure silver is the natural pairing for that, a shoe that stays plain until a headlight finds it.
