The GEL-Resolution is ASICS’ shoe for the player who lives on the baseline, the one sliding into wide balls and changing direction under load rather than serve-volleying. Everything in the build follows from that.
The eighth edition brought two notable changes. It was the first in the series to use FlyteFoam, the lightweight midsole compound ASICS introduced across its running line in 2016, which let the shoe cut weight without losing underfoot protection. It also introduced DYNAWALL, a reinforced structure on the midsole sidewall meant to resist the foot rolling over the edge during lateral movement, and wrapped the whole thing in a Flexion Fit upper designed to move with the foot instead of fighting it. ASICS measured the 8 as producing meaningfully more dynamic braking force than the seventh edition.
Durability is handled by AHAR+, the brand’s abrasion-resistant rubber, placed where hard courts wear a shoe fastest, with a reinforced toe drag guard.
The colourway is a women’s exclusive: a deep purple upper against white on the sole unit and heel.
