ASICS released its Earth Day Pack in April 2021, describing it as the most planet-conscious cross-category collection it had assembled to that point. The brand said roughly five tonnes of textile waste (the equivalent of about twenty-five thousand t-shirts) went into the footwear, with every shoe containing at least thirty per cent recycled components and some reaching forty. The cream and putty palette was itself part of the argument: an undyed-looking finish chosen because it needs less water, ink and dye than a coloured one. Each piece carried a sunflower emblem with two arrows at its centre, standing for the company's circular-economy ambition. Underneath the story sits the tenth GT-1000, the entry point to the ASICS stability range: mild guidance through the heel and midfoot, GEL under the heel, priced below the GT-2000 above it. The unusual part is that the sustainability treatment landed on an affordable everyday trainer rather than only on the flagships.
