Court surface decides more about a tennis shoe than the upper does. ASICS splits its tennis models by outsole, and the OC designation stands for omni and clay: courts of sand-dressed artificial turf or crushed brick, where a hard-court tread grips too hard and holds sand instead of shedding it. The OC pattern is cut to let a player slide and release, which is a different job from the all-court rubber on the standard version of the same shoe.
Above that outsole the shoe is unchanged. The Solution Speed FF 3 is the quick, low-slung option in the line rather than the protective one. ASICS removed much of the TPU that structured the second version's upper and replaced it with woven mesh, cutting weight and adding give, and it keeps FlyteFoam in the midsole, one of the firmer foams the brand makes, so the player feels the court instead of sinking into foam.
The white and Pure Silver treatment here is about as plain as tennis footwear gets, which is largely the point on a shoe meant to disappear underfoot.
