ASICS stratifies its tennis line by how much support a player is willing to carry. The Gel-Resolution is the stability shoe, built around an extended DYNAWALL along the midfoot and a wide, planted outsole for players hauled out wide. The Solution Speed sits at the opposite end, cut down to almost nothing. The Solution Swift is the shoe in the middle, and the one that costs least.
Its support comes from a TWISTRUSS unit under the midfoot, a smaller piece than the shank in the Speed but one that lab testing has found delivers comparable control through side-to-side movement. FlyteFoam handles cushioning, and the outsole borrows the vertical dash tread from an earlier Solution Speed for all-court traction. The synthetic upper is closer to a traditional tennis shoe than the airy mesh ASICS now uses higher up the range.
For a club player, that combination is the argument: a shoe that moves well, holds the foot on a hard court and does not ask for the price of the flagship.
