Terra is the road-to-trail branch of the Trabuco family, and the second version keeps the brief deliberately broad. Reviewers describe a shoe that is not the grippiest in deep mud, the lightest for racing or the most cushioned for long days, but competent at all of it, which is what most people running mixed surfaces actually need. The FF Blast midsole is the strong point, responsive without going mushy underfoot, and a rock protection plate in the forefoot handles the sharp stones and roots that ruin an otherwise good run. The outsole uses multi-directional lugs that hold on packed earth, gravel, wet grass and moderate mud. Black with sun coral is the standard trail treatment for good reason: the dark base absorbs everything the ground throws at it and the warm accent keeps the shoe findable in a pile of kit.
