Plain white Chucks have one well-known problem, which is that they stop being white almost immediately. Pale Putty is Converse's answer to that. It is an off-white with grey and warmth mixed in, close enough to cream to read as a neutral and dirty enough already that scuffs and creasing blend into the colour instead of standing out against it.
Used tonally across a low-top, it also removes the usual contrast between canvas and rubber, so the shoe reads as one continuous shape rather than as a coloured upper sitting on a white sole. Everything else follows the everyday All Star Ox, a shape Converse has altered remarkably little across a century of production. Our records date this pair to April 2021.
