Moss was one of the colours Converse picked for the first Renew Canvas run, and it is a good fit for the material: a soft, slightly desaturated green that suits a fabric made from recycled polyester rather than dyed cotton. Obsidian, the near-black blue on the trim, keeps it grounded, and the rubber runs white from bumper to sole.
Renew launched in 2019 as Converse's push to build its regular models out of post-consumer waste. For Renew Canvas that meant developing a polyester yarn spun from used plastic bottles that handles like the original cotton weave, plus recycled polyester laces. The low-top keeps every other All Star feature intact, including the rubber bumper across the toe and the diamond-tread sole. The slogan the colourway is named for carries the line's message about waste.
