Terry cloth is woven with uncut loops standing up from the ground fabric, which is why a towel absorbs so much water: the loops multiply the surface area enormously against a flat weave. Bathrobes, tennis wristbands and beach clothing use it for exactly that reason, and almost nothing on a shoe wall does.
Here the loops sit where canvas normally goes, striped in egret and pink clay with black at the trim, so the upper reads soft and slightly plush instead of stiff. It is the opposite instinct to the rest of the 70 line, which is built around roughly 12-ounce cotton canvas holding a rigid shape and creasing in big folds. The sole unit does not change with the upper: glossy foxing running high on the sidewall, one-piece rubber, diamond tread carried over from the basketball original, and a thick OrthoLite footbed inside.
