The Hiker is the strangest thing Converse has done to the All Star shape. Rather than restyle the canvas, it rebuilds the upper with the bulk of a 1970s trail boot: a taller, padded collar, a reinforced toe area and a thicker overall profile, all sitting on the Chuck 70 sidewall so the shoe still reads as part of the family.
Capulet Olive is a muted, slightly grey green that suits the outdoor reference better than a brighter shade would, and the tonal treatment keeps the branding quiet. This version came out of Converse's work with Slam Jam, the Italian streetwear label, which has a long record of pulling heritage models toward utility and workwear rather than sport. At $150 it was priced well above a standard Chuck 70, which is what the extra construction and the collaboration both bought.
