The Future is one of the few Jordan models built by subtraction. It takes the midsole, the translucent outsole and the carbon fibre shank from the Air Jordan 11 (a 1995 basketball shoe defined by patent leather and a formal silhouette) and replaces everything above the foxing with a single unbroken panel. No overlays, no visible structure, no lace stays cut into the sides. It arrived in 2014 as a lifestyle exercise rather than a performance shoe and kept returning in new colours through the years that followed. This version puts it in wheat, the tan tone borrowed from work boots that ran across almost every brand's autumn range through the mid-2010s, with dark grey and sail handling the sole and the trim. With so few panel breaks to interrupt it, the model takes a single flat colour better than most, and the result looks less like a basketball shoe wearing a seasonal palette than like a boot that happens to sit on a 1995 sole. It released in October 2018.
