A tall can of malt liquor supplies the colours for the 'Steel Reserve' Dunk High Pro SB. Metallic silver takes the upper, mimicking the aluminium of the can, while black and challenge red handle the accents the way the brand's red-and-black lettering sits on the silver tin. It is a joke aimed squarely at the skate-shop crowd, in the same family as SB Dunks that riffed on bubble gum wrappers, corner-store paper bags and a stoner comedy duo: a reference you either get instantly or never notice. Retail was $100, and the nickname did the rest.
Beyond the reference, nothing about the build is unusual: it is a Pro SB High with the fat tongue on elastic straps, the padded collar and the Zoom Air heel of every other Dunk in the skate line. What changes the experience is the finish. Metallic silver looks sharp out of the box but shows creases and scuffs sooner than suede or nubuck, so this is a colourway that ages visibly if it gets skated, and one where a lightly worn pair and a beaten pair look very different.
