The Swoosh Hunter was a standalone silhouette rather than a retro or a hybrid, a lifestyle high-top Nike introduced in early 2016 and then largely dropped. It has no laces. A thick strap crosses the ankle and does the fastening work, and the closure beneath it replaces eyelets entirely, which is why comparisons to the Nike Mag followed the shoe around from the first images: same high cut, same band across the collar, same refusal to show any hardware. The upper is smooth leather laid over a textured base so diagonal lines run through the surface rather than being printed onto it, and the midsole carries a web-like moulding in place of a flat sidewall. This version is black throughout with white confined to the sole, the most restrained of the colours it came in. Pricing sat at $250, well above the lifestyle norm at the time, and distribution was narrow: a handful of boutiques and a limited international rollout rather than a broad release. Very little followed it. The model reads now mostly as a marker of the mid-2010s stretch when Nike was experimenting hard with laceless closures across several lines at once.
