Tennis shoes are destroyed from the inside edge outward. A hard-court player slides, pivots and drags the toe on serve, and the first material to fail is almost always across the medial forefoot, which is why court shoes carry reinforcement in places running shoes leave bare. The Zoom NXT took over from the GP Turbo in the NikeCourt range and came in roughly an ounce lighter, sitting the player closer to the ground over a large forefoot Zoom Air unit that is curved and segmented so it bends in more than one direction rather than acting as a flat slab. Testers found it quick to accelerate and easy through changes of direction, with a relaxed toe box and a snugger hold through the midfoot. Glacier blue over white is standard hard-court presentation: pale, cool and built to read clean under stadium lighting.
