Predator opened in the United States on June 12, 1987. Arnold Schwarzenegger leads a paramilitary rescue team into a Central American rainforest and finds that something is hunting them: an extraterrestrial with a cloaking device that renders it close to invisible, an effect the production built out of chroma key work and multiple passes of film rather than any single trick.
The franchise it started ran on for decades. Shane Black, who had played a supporting role in the original as Rick Hawkins, came back to direct The Predator, which premiered in Toronto on September 6, 2018 and opened in the United States eight days after that.
Reebok timed this shoe to that release. The white and green upper is a read on the cloaking effect rather than a literal picture of it, the heel carries strings of code and numbering drawn from the model's own internal style numbers, and the outsole is finished in icy blue over the DMX moving-air chambers. Parts of the shoe glow in the dark.
