Reebok spent the 2010s betting on CrossFit. The company agreed a ten-year partnership with the sport in 2010 and became its licensed footwear supplier the following year, which pushed it into designing for movements most sportswear brands had never bothered with: rope climbs, box jumps, and barbell work heavy enough to demand dedicated shoes. The Legacy Lifter came out of that period, developed with input from a competitive weightlifter, and it is a specialist tool rather than a trainer. The heel is hard thermoplastic standing around twenty-two millimetres tall over a wide flat base, so nothing underfoot compresses when a loaded bar changes direction, and a strap across the laces stops the foot travelling forward. It weighs far more than any running shoe, which is not a defect in something engineered to stay completely still.
