About the adidas Forum 84 Low ADV "Black Gum"

Black over black, with one red line. The suede upper and the cupsole are both Core Black, and Vivid Red appears only in the trims, which on a shoe this dark is the only thing keeping the panels legible. Skate colourways tend toward black because griptape destroys light materials within weeks, and this is about as literal an application of that logic as adidas makes.

ADV is what adidas calls the version it sends to skateboarders: suede where the standard model uses smooth leather, reinforcement at the points a board wears through first, and cushioning tuned for impact rather than court feel. It released on 23 February 2021, not long after adidas Originals put the silhouette back into general production. Its 84 label refers to the shoe's launch year, and the low-top keeps the adjustable strap and the wedge-heeled cupsole from that design. Of the black ADV pairs in the range, this is the one that hides wear most completely, because there is no grey shading to go patchy and no contrast panel to scuff through.
