Off White leather forms the body, Cloud White brightens the sole and the laces, and Magic Mauve, a dusty purple-pink, is applied to the Three Stripes and the heel tab. Two whites against one muted accent is a scheme adidas returns to often on the Forum, but the mauve is the rarer half of it, and it gives the shoe a softer edge than the greys and navies that shared the shelf in late 2021.
The price is the other outlier. At 80 dollars on 2 December 2021, this was forty under what the 84 tier usually commanded, making it one of the cheapest full-leather Forums adidas sold that year. The 84 name points at 1984, when the model launched as a basketball shoe, and the build follows that original closely: an adjustable ankle strap, the X-shaped overlay that holds it, a perforated toe and the cupsole with its raised heel wedge. Off White leather also means the shoe starts slightly aged, so the first year of creasing works with the colour instead of against it.
