CL is the strapless Forum. Removing the adjustable ankle strap the model has carried since 1984 sounds minor, but it changes the whole read of the shoe: without the strap and its X-shaped anchor, the quarter panel is left open and the low-top looks closer to a plain leather court shoe than to a basketball design. adidas introduced the cut for people who wanted the sole and the proportion without the hardware.
This pair is white leather with two greys layered behind it, Grey Three on the deeper shading and Grey Two lighter, giving the panels a definition that a pure triple white would lose. The cupsole stays the same shape, wedge heel included, and the serrated Three Stripes sit where they always have. It released in March 2025 at 100 dollars, which puts it below the 84 and ADV tiers and level with the standard leather Forum Low. For a model whose most recognisable feature is a strap, the CL has proved a surprisingly durable seller, and the grey shading here is the kind of detail that keeps a plain white sneaker from disappearing.
