Victory Blue is a true primary, neither navy nor pastel, and against Cloud White leather it produces the cleanest contrast adidas gets out of the Forum. It fills the serrated Three Stripes and the heel tab while the rest of the shoe, including the cupsole and the laces, stays white. The strapless quarter panel gives those blue stripes an unbroken run from the laces to the heel, which is the best argument for this cut.
That is what CL does: it takes the adjustable ankle strap off a shoe designed around one in 1984 and leaves the side of the upper clear.
