Black suede, cream trim and gum rubber is a combination borrowed from work boots more than basketball shoes, and it suits the Forum Mid better than it should. The suede kills the shine that makes a black leather sneaker look formal, the Cream White on the serrated Three Stripes and the lining keeps the upper from closing into a single mass, and the gum outsole adds an amber base that warms the whole thing from below.
It came out in January 2023 at 120 dollars. The mid-cut stops just above the ankle bone, high enough for the adjustable strap to sit where it was designed to and low enough not to restrict the foot, which is why it has become the most practical of the three Forum heights. Gum soles mark more visibly than white ones, but they also darken evenly rather than in patches, so the shoe wears in rather than out. Against the white-heavy Forum range of that winter, this was the pair built for weather.
