Commemorative makeups follow awards closely in basketball footwear, and this one followed fast: Harden took the 2017-18 Most Valuable Player award and adidas had a gold-trimmed Vol. 2 in stores in June 2018.
The LS designation marks a material change rather than a new shoe. Where the standard Vol. 2 used Forgefiber (an upper of TPU-coated fibres over a neoprene bootie, from a design team led by Rashad Williams), the LS version builds the same silhouette from knit panels and leather, keeping the sock-like construction and forefoot flexibility while reading as a richer finish. Steel grey and black cover most of it. Gold appears only where it works as a marker: the lace tips and a stripe along the midsole. Boost cushioning runs underneath, unchanged, at 180 dollars against the standard model's 140.
