Edison Chen, the Hong Kong-Canadian performer who founded CLOT, took the Superstar somewhere it had not been: formalwear. The upper is glossy white patent leather, the serrated Three-Stripes are cut from black patent, and perforations run along the heel tab and between the stripes in the pattern of a brogue.
The details keep pushing in that direction. Tassels hang from the laces, a leather welt joins upper to sole, and the midsole is stacked taller than a standard Superstar so the profile reads closer to a derby than a basketball shoe. Crystal Sand appears as the third colour, warming the otherwise black and white scheme. It was the opening drop of the adidas Originals partnership with Chen, released February 23, 2024 at $200 through a small group of stockists including CLOT's own JUICE stores. A tan version followed later the same year.
