The Trefoil normally appears once on a Superstar, on the tongue, with script on the heel patch doing the rest of the talking. Here it is multiplied: scarlet Trefoils printed in repeat across a Cloud White leather upper, turning the brand mark into a pattern. Under the print, nothing moves. The serrated Three-Stripes are still cut into the sidewall, the moulded rubber shell toe still caps the front, and the cupsole underneath still carries the herringbone tread the shoe has worn since it was sold to basketball players.
adidas dated it August 19, 2020 and priced it at $110. That places it in the fiftieth anniversary year, when the brand was running everything from archival reissues to backless mules through the same silhouette, and an all-over logo print was one of the milder experiments.
