This is a tonal exercise rather than a colourway. Cloud White forms the base leather, White Tint sits a shade warmer on the overlays, and Orbit Grey, the darkest of the three, handles the Three Stripes and the sole trim. None of the three is more than a step from the others, so the shoe changes character with the light: flat and uniform indoors, clearly layered outside.
It released on 2 April 2022 at 95 dollars in women's sizing, an odd number that placed it between the 90 dollar kids pairs and the 110 dollar leather women's releases of the same season. The build is the standard Forum Low, meaning the ankle strap, the X-shaped overlay, the perforated toe and the wedge-heeled cupsole all trace back to the model adidas launched for basketball in 1984. Tonal neutrals age well on leather, because the creasing and yellowing that would ruin a stark white pair simply move the shoe further along the range it already occupies. It is the least attention-seeking Forum adidas made that spring, which was the point.
