Savanna is adidas' name for the warm, greyed sand tone that covers the suede upper on this women's Gazelle, and it does most of the work. Against it, Cloud White lands on the serrated three stripes and the heel tab, which is the only high-contrast element on an otherwise soft, low-saturation shoe. A Glory Red accent supplies the third colour in the way the older terrace palettes did, used sparingly rather than as a block. The result is closer to a neutral than to a colourway, which is why it pairs easily with denim and why the shade turned up repeatedly in the women's range that year.
The build underneath is the familiar low-top: a flat suede vamp, a T-shaped toe overlay, a gold-foil wordmark on the lateral quarter and a thin rubber outsole with no visible cushioning. adidas listed it at $80 on June 18, 2021, which put it at the bottom of the Gazelle price ladder, below the Indoor and well below any collaboration. For anyone who wanted the shape without a statement colour, this was the version that did the job.
