That is the whole palette of this Gazelle Indoor from Blondey McCoy, the British skateboarder and artist behind the label Thames, and the refusal to introduce a fourth colour is the point of it. Grey Six covers the upper and repeats on the serrated three stripes, with Carbon, a deeper charcoal, marking the remaining details. From a few feet away the shoe reads as a single continuous surface, which puts all the emphasis on the Indoor's low, flat proportions.
At $220 on November 17, 2020, it was priced well above any general-release Gazelle, and the premium reflects both the limited run and the make. McCoy came up through skateboarding before moving into art and design, and Thames is built on British and skate references rather than on loud graphics, so a muted, almost institutional grey reads here as a deliberate anti-statement rather than an absence of one. A shoe with no colour to date it is also a shoe that does not go out of season, which is a quieter argument for the price than most collaborations make.
