Two maroons and a cream make up this one. adidas lists Maroon, Noble Maroon and Ecru Tint, a tonal red arrangement broken only by the off-white, on a leather upper. It is the more unusual of the two colourways from this project, because burgundy and maroon were not yet common on the Samba in 2020, and the two-shade treatment gives the shoe depth without introducing a hard contrast anywhere. The construction is standard throughout, from the low collar to the flat sole.
It released on 14 November 2020 at 90 dollars in the United States, the same day and the same price as the green make. Holding a collaborative pair at general-release money was normal then and would be unthinkable within two years, once partner Sambas settled into a 160 to 300 dollar range. The date also puts this among the earliest of the fashion-facing projects on the model, with the Wales Bonner debut following six days later and everything that made the shoe ubiquitous coming after both. Maroon aged particularly well. By 2024 adidas was running burgundy through its own general releases and down into children's sizing, and a deep red Samba had stopped being a departure.
