The Recouture x adidas Campus 80s SH 'Chalk White' takes the Campus 80s apart and puts it back together with mismatched details: one side carries the suede running further down toward the sole, while the other is finished with an eyestay set off from its usual position and stitched onto the tongue instead. Three-Stripes detailing and a leather heel tab with Trefoil branding remain on both quarter panels, in a chalk white, dark blue and core black colorway. It released on September 12, 2020 at $120.
Recouture is a Tokyo shop known for restoring and reconstructing sneakers, run by Shun Hirose; this Campus was one of several deconstructed, asymmetric adidas Consortium builds the workshop produced in 2020. The design plays with what a reconstruction done out of sequence might look like, mismatching the two sides of the shoe rather than mirroring them, while keeping the Campus 80s' suede upper and low-top shape intact underneath the reworked details.
