Fox Brothers flannel takes the place of suede on this Campus, built in a solid West of England grey with off white detailing through the midsole and laces. A dark ink navy picks out the heel tab and branding, giving the low-top a dressier, textile-driven look rather than its usual sportswear materials, courtesy of an English cloth mill with a history stretching back generations.
Fox Brothers supplied three different flannels for this Campus collaboration released December 13, 2019 at $110, alongside an Old English blue chalkstripe and a glen check. Using suiting cloth on a basketball-shaped low-top pairs two unrelated traditions, English tailoring fabric and the Campus's court background, on a single upper. The result reads more like a piece of tailoring than a court shoe, even though the shape underneath never changes.
