The GT-1000 11 is where ASICS's cheapest stability trainer stopped feeling like a corrective device. The previous generation used DUOMAX: a firm foam wedge on the inside of the midsole, propped by a rubber medial wall and a plastic shank. The 11 replaced it with LiteTruss, still a dual-density element through the heel and midfoot, but without the wall or the shank. The shoe lost around ten grams and, more importantly, lost the hard ridge runners could feel under the arch.
Everything else moved in the same direction. The heavily padded tongue and collar were dialled back to something more practical for running, the engineered mesh upper was lightened, and the profile slimmed down. It came in at roughly 9.4 ounces with an 8mm drop, on full-length FlyteFoam that lands between soft and firm.
The fit runs snug, which is worth knowing before ordering. This pair keeps it plain: black mesh, red on the logo and midsole line.
