Barely Rose is the palest pink ASICS uses, and against white it makes the twenty-eighth Kayano look far lighter than a premium stability shoe generally does. The construction is anything but light. This generation still carried Dynamic DuoMax, the firm medial post the line had used for years, along with the plastic Trusstic piece under the arch, both of which the 29 would remove in favour of a single LiteTruss system. Its concession to where the market was heading was the midsole: FlyteFoam Blast replaced FlyteFoam Propel through the midfoot, softening the ride noticeably. The line's origins are in 1993, when Toshikazu Kayano designed a shoe with a rigid, supportive heel inspired by a stag beetle's shell, and the brand put his name on it because it was easy for English speakers to pronounce. Thirty years on, the brief has not really moved. This is the wide fitting.
