Indigo blue with a silver trim gives the Nimbus 25 more presence than the greys the line usually gets, and the shoe had the substance to carry it. This was the generation where ASICS rebuilt the model outright: a new internal PureGEL unit at the rear in place of the old visible insert, a new FF Blast Plus Eco midsole carrying roughly twenty per cent more foam than the 24, a new knitted upper and a new outsole. The added stack works out to about six millimetres at the toe and four at the heel, and the foam is made with at least a fifth bio-based content. Reviewers were broadly convinced, treating it as the point at which a line running since 1999 caught up with what maximum cushioning had come to mean elsewhere in the market.
