The Gel-Resolution is the shoe ASICS gives to players who slide, stop and change direction hard. Its defining piece is the DYNAWALL, a stiffened wall along the medial side that resists the foot rolling over its edge under load; on the ninth version that wall was extended back into the heel. Around it sit a TWISTRUSS midfoot unit, a wide and flat outsole platform, and AHAR+ rubber, a harder compound that survives abrasive hard courts longer than standard outsole rubber. The upper uses DynaFit, an adaptive material meant to move with the foot instead of creasing against it.
The collaboration behind this pair paired ASICS with BOSS, the first time the two had made a shoe together, and it was built around Matteo Berrettini, whose game is exactly the heavy baseline style the Resolution is engineered for. The partnership launched in 2023 with a run of colourways and continued into the following season, where this White Camel version landed. What changes across those drops is finish and trim; the chassis is the production Gel-Resolution 9.
