Royal blue has been part of the Air Jordan 1 vocabulary since the first year of the shoe, but it almost always appears with white or black. Putting it next to Orange Peel, a bright citrus tone, is a different proposition: the two colors sit opposite each other and neither one recedes.
Hyper Royal covers the leather upper, with the orange used as an accent rather than a panel color, and white returns underfoot on the midsole and outsole to give the eye somewhere to rest. The result is closer to a team makeup than to the tonal builds the Retro Low usually gets. The cut is the standard low, with the collar dropped below the ankle and the heel panel shortened to match.
