The Air Jordan 7 was the most abstract entry Tinker Hatfield made in the line. Released in 1992, it removed the visible Air window the models around it were built to show off, and borrowed the neoprene inner sleeve from Nike's Huarache work so the shoe held the foot without a stack of overlays doing it. Premio was a small programme that looked back at that design process rather than at the shoe's on-court history, reproducing models in premium materials with details drawn from the original sketches, including the black and white heel treatment Hatfield first drew. This run was limited to 2,059 pairs, each numbered inside the tongue, an unusual degree of formality for a retro at the time. Leather and neoprene make up the build, with a bright accent on the heel Jumpman.
